C-STS has been awarded Spacecraft RF Suitcase contract by Thales Alenia Space in Turin, Italy. C-STS will act as the Prime contractor and VTT, Finland will be subcontractor and responsible for design, assembly and validation of a specific RF sub-system elements. The Spacecraft Suitcase will be used during specific test campaigns named Radio Frequency Compatibility Tests (RFCT) before the satellite launch to demonstrate RF compatibility between the Satellite X-Band (Transmission/Reception) and K-Band (Transmission) and the receiving Ground Station(s). Compatibility tests will be carried out at and by ESA/ESOC in the ESOC RF Compatibility Test Lab.
Euclid is an ESA mission to map the geometry of the dark Universe. The mission will investigate the distance-redshift relationship and the evolution of cosmic structures. In other words, to look-back in time of 10 billion years. The entire period over which dark energy played a significant role in accelerating the expansion. In November 2018, the Euclid mission passed its critical design review, marking the successful completion of a major phase in the progress of the project and clearing the way to start assembling the whole spacecraft.
